This 4 days queen Elizabeth national park safari will take you the second largest and most visited national park in Uganda.

The park is located in the southwestern Uganda in Rubirizi, kasese, kamwenge and Rukungiri districts.

On your 4 days Queen Elizabeth national park safari you will participate in the various activities like game drive in the kasenyi plains and boat cruise on the kazinga channel, chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura gorge and also visit crater lakes such as katwe and lake Munyanyange

4 Days Queen Elizabeth safari detailed Itinerary

Depending on your location in Kampala our driver guide will pick you up, brief you about the 4 days safari and then start the journey which takes about 7 to 7 hours’ drive. On your way you will have a stopover at the Equator which is a great place for photos, you will also view craft shops and if you want buy handmade items or art pieces the equator is the great place for craft items, from the equator you will continue with the journey with another stopover at Igongo Cultural center for enroute lunch. Igongo cultural center is a great place which offers spectacular views of animals and people sculptures visit the museum, book shop among others, After lunch you will continue the journey via Mbarara town, Bushenyi where you will see tea plantations along the road as you continue to Fort portal town and then Queen Elizabeth National park.

Check in to your selected lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

On you second day you will wake up early have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to kasenyi plains for the morning game drive and also lion tracking. During the game drive you will see animal species such as lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bush pig and various bird species such as papyrus gonalek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, white winged warbler, among others. After the game drive which takes about 4 to 5 hours, you will drive to the lodge for lunch.

Boat cruise, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer for an afternoon boat cruise on the kazinga channel. A water body that joins Lake George and Edward. The boat cruise starts at exactly 2:00 pm at the landing site in Mweya it takes from 3 to 4 hours. Boat cruise is an exciting and adventurous activity on the kazinga channel where you will be able to cruise close to the animals such as elephants, hippos, Nile crocodiles, waterbucks which will be viewed along the water banks and various water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fishers among others

After your boat cruise you will drive back to your lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.

You will wake up early have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Kyambura gorge is also known as the valley of apes and located in the northeastern part of Queen Elizabeth national park which takes about 30 kilometers to reach there. On arrival at kyambura gorge you will first have a briefing about the rules and regulations to be followed during the chimpanzee trekking then enter the jungle to start the trekking. Chimpanzee trekking in the kyambura gorge take from 3 to 4 hours or even longer depending on the location of the chimpanzee families. Once the chimpanzee have been found you will 1 hour in their presence learning about their life style behaviors, habits, recordingvideos and taking photos. After the chimpanzee trekking you will meet with your guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch and refreshment

After you lunch you will transfer to Lake Katwe the salt lake which was formed through volcanic eruption. During the lake katwe tour you will be able to see the local people extracting salt from the main lake to the landing area. If there is still time you will also visit Lake Munyanyangwe which is 2 km away.

Later return to you lodge for dinner and overnight

You will wake up and have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet with your driver guide for another morning game drive in the park. This morning game drive will give you an opportunity to view some of the wildlife life you may have missed the previous day, the drive will take like 2 hours then drive out of the park and start your journey back to Kampala, on your way you will pass via the tea plantations and have a stopover in fortportale for lunch.

After lunch you will continue with you journey reach Kampala early evening, the driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport in case you have your flight back home.
